A rare post not about moi -- but pretty close, if you consider the DNA.

My brother Andrew and his band The Lomax have been producing high-quality “twangle pop” (they coined the term) in the Pine Tree State for several years now. They’re a little bit country, a little bit power pop, and a lot of other things. But really they are their own thing, The Lomax.

Lomax Redux (their second album, just released) features their trademark clever lyrics, melodic hooks, and stylish, rootsy playing. But enough of my yakkin’! Do yourself a favor and get a copy...

LOMAX REDUX (great stocking stuffer!)

One of my favorite songs from the album is the spiritual ballad “Lonesome Pines.” It could have been written by Willie Nelson, if he were from Oxford County, Maine (it actually quotes Willie’s “Hello Walls”).

Another is the whimsically geeky (geekily whimsical?) tune “The Geometrist,” which you can check out right here...

Kudos for the John Updike-inspired title and cover design!
